This is a lovely government-run hotel. Fantastic location on Stuart Hill, about a kilometer from the bus stand. The hotel and the rooms overlook a deep valley - fantastic views! The grounds are well maintained. There is spacious parking and a swimming pool. The hotel also has a full-fledged bar and a restaurant. Rooms and bathrooms are spacious and decently equipped. While there is a hot water kettle in the room, there are no coffee/tea sachets. Would be good if they kept that too. Also, have an enclosure for the shower portion in the bathroom so that water does not splash everywhere. Food was good. The restaurant has both indoor and outdoor seating. Service was good. Only issue was the timings - breakfast starts only at 8. Someone who has planned for an early start will have to forgo breakfast. On the flip side - the wifi signal is poor/zero in some of the rooms.

Kajal was very helpful with kids activities. Participated in fun activities, it was good and for parents and kids. Food was relatively good but little expensive. Musical night and barbecue with added to the charm. Thanks.

I stayed here from 9-11 Aug'23. Amazing location and huge property size. The staff hospitality was amazing. They always serve you with a smile. However, the maintenance of the hotel needs a lot to be done. Paint inside the room had patches. Furniture were chipped and rotten at many places. Only 4 options in breakfast buffet. Stray dog was inside hotel. He was roaming around swimming pool. Rest everything was ok.

I was staying in the suite. It is large, clean and has all the basic amenities you can ask for. It faces the the beautiful scenic valley Tye place is close to Rajas seat. If you can give up plushness, this would be the best place to stay It has the best value for money

Stayed for 2 nights in 2 adjacent Double Deluxe Rooms in June’23 end. The hotel is located on the edge of the mountains with brilliant views of the valley. We were allotted 2 rooms on the 1st floor with uninterrupted valley view. Both the rooms were spacious and neatly done. The rooms were fitted with comfortable bed, chair & table, dressing table, wardrobe, TV, AC, celling fan, tea / coffee maker etc. The washroom was spacious too and well maintained and fitted with Geyser and hair dryer. Small soap, shampoo and liquid handwash were provided in the washroom and refilled on daily basis. Towels were of good quality and changed regularly. When we visited at the end of June’23, it was raining off and on, hence weather was cool and misty that provided a beautiful experience of exploring the hotel as well as Madikeri under the mist. The hotel is built on spread-out landscape with ample parking, restaurant with indoor and outdoor sitting, outdoor pool, garden, massage center etc. To me, the biggest advantage is the location of the hotel, situated at a walking distance from Raja Seat but excluded from city crowd, also dining and shopping options are available nearby within 1-2 kms, as we had vehicle, we didn’t face any problem in communication. We had buffet breakfast and lunch at the inhouse restaurant. The buffet breakfast had minimal spread, 1st day had one cut fruit, milk & cornflakes, bread & butter, puri bhaji, idly, kesar bhat and Tea/ Coffee, on 2nd day, idli and puri bhaji were replaced with poha and dosa. We also had lunch at the restaurant and ordered chicken starter & chicken main course with butter naan & fried rice. The chicken kabab was more like chicken fry, however other dishes were reasonably tasty. The dishes were moderately priced, chicken dishes were priced in the range of Rs. 200-Rs. 220. the serving was okay. The restaurant has both indoor and outdoor sitting provisions with nice view of valley. The hotel seems to be inflexible on their check-in and check-out time. The staffs were courteous, especially the house keeping ladies. Overall it was an enjoyable and comfortable stay.
